Terms of Use

Enseigne is a map of public inspection records published by Uncommon Weather LLC for general information. It is not a substitute for the notice in a restaurant window or the health department’s own file.

Grades, penalty points, Pass/Fail marks, and dates come from the named agency. New York City records come from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. We may lag the live agency file.

You must accept these terms to use Enseigne, whether or not you create an account. If you are signed in, we keep that acceptance with your account so you are not asked again on every visit.

Accounts are optional. Community notes are inspection discussion only. Do not use this site to accuse a kitchen of making someone sick. Uncommon Weather may remove notes that make that claim, and may close accounts that abuse the community features.

You are responsible for the notes you post. Do not post personal data about other people.

The software is provided as is. Uncommon Weather is not liable for dining decisions, closures, or errors in a public dataset.
